In 1983 the MOBIL Oil company produced this fantastic set of 30 silks under the tital of "Football Club Badges. The packets they came in told you the following "You will receive one of these envelopes with every 4 gallons of petrol purchased from this station. Each will contain one of 30 leading Football Club Badges which can be stitched or stuck to clothing or other personal belongs". On the reverse of the packet it offer free leather footballs to schools for every 750 wrappers taken into headteachers.
These are extremely simple designs but are great examples of silks which had almost disappeared as a collectable format by the 1980's. With each purchase of these silks you will receive one of the original wrappers that the item came in when purchased.
