Cigarette card from 1929 produced by W.D. & H.O. Wills and issued by the Imperial Tobacco Co. This set followed up from the original 1928 Cricketers series. The series features 50 of the top County Cricketers playing in England at the time with both head and shoulders and action pictures of the players. The back of the cards are in green writing with a border and inside there are details of the player concerned. This style of cards was originally put into cigarette packets which at the time were made of paper and foil to strengthen the packets to stop crushing. Originally they carried advertisements and in 1893 John Players produced the first general interest card sets.
